Camera Monitor app icon

See yourself the way the camera sees you

Camera Monitor turns an iPad or a second iPhone into a big live viewfinder for your iPhone camera — over your local network, with no internet and no accounts.

An iPad and an iPhone side by side showing the same live picture, linked over Wi-Fi Monitor role on iPad: full-screen live feed with the remote shutter button The monitor listing nearby cameras, with the iPhone that is broadcasting

How it works

  1. Open the app on two devices on the same Wi-Fi — or simply near each other, direct peer-to-peer works too.
  2. One device becomes the Camera, the other the Monitor.
  3. Put the phone on a tripod, walk into the frame, and watch yourself on the big screen.

Made for real shoots

Low-latency stream

Hardware HEVC video over your local network. No servers, no sign-in, nothing to configure.

Remote shutter

Take the photo from the monitor. It is saved on the camera device in full quality.

Real camera controls

Lens buttons, tap to focus, exposure adjustment, AE/AF lock, up to 48 MP or Apple ProRAW.

Framing help

Rule-of-thirds grid on both screens, so the person in the frame can fix the composition.

Several monitors

More than one device can watch the same camera at the same time.

Private connection

Set an optional password on the camera. It never travels over the network.

Private by design. Video never leaves your local network. No data collection, no analytics, no ads — ever.
